Samhain is celebrated October 31st - November 1st and marks the division between the light (summer) and dark (winter) parts of the year. It is believed that during this time the veil between our world and the otherworld is at its thinnest, allowing spirits to pass back and forth as they please.

Like many Celtic celebrations, Samhain was filled with food and fire. Offerings were prepared for ancestors and costumes were worn as protection from harmful spirits.
